What to Do When You Are Stuck in Big Traffic Backups

If you drive to and from work or school every day, you get used to slow traffic backups.

There are some every day backups on the freeways in the usual places where there is a of traffic every morning and afternoon,.

And then there are the backups that are caused by crashes or brush fires or even small planes making emergency landings on or along some of the freeways.

And this week and in recent weeks and months we have had all of these big traffic incidents that cause huge backups and a giant problems in getting to work or getting home on time.

A few of these recent traffic problems have meant sitting in your car stopped completely or almost completely for a very long time sometimes.

And when this happens, you may look for the next off ramp and seek out alternate ways to get where you’re going using surface streets.

But of course if you’re doing that, others are doing it, and that alternate route which can help you escape the huge backup, can turn out not to be as much of an escape as you had hoped.

Incidents like these can be lessons in patience but let’s admit it. That’s easier said than done.
