How Marriage in America is Changing for the Better

How is marriage doing these days in America?

There have been a lot of studies over the years about it.

And a lot of social scientists talk about it.

And while the institutions of marriage and families in America have changed over the last 50 years or so, there is something that may be happening that is good change.

Some studies for instance have shown that among younger generations, the millennials and Gen Z, there has been evidence that shows that they are taking marriage more seriously, and being more careful about who they date and who they choose to marry and how they treat their spouse and how more loyal they are to them than older generations.

So how people view marriage could in fact be changing for the better.

One study for instance has found that the quality of a marriage actually improves over the years for couples who don’t split up. The researchers say they found that the happiness level in marriages actually improves after about 20 years for most longtime married couples.

And there have been dozens of studies that have shown that married persons tend to live longer than their unmarried counterparts.

As someone who has been married now to his high school sweetheart now for several decades, marriage, when you commit to it, is indeed an advantage that can last a lifetime.
