There were posts on social media over the weekend that reveal, not surprisingly, that three are a lot of former fans of the San Diego Chargers who now very much dislike the Los Angeles Chargers.
And anyone who knows anything about what happened nearly a decade ago when the owner of San Diego’s NFL team, Dean Spanos, decided to abandon San Diego after some 50 years here, with thousands and thousands of fans having spent thousands and thousands of dollars supporting the Chargers, and move his team to Los Angeles.
And that’s why it isn’t surprising that so many former SD Charger fans now hate watch the now Los Angeles Chargers, as many did on Sunday as the they played the former Oakland and L-A Raiders and now the Las Vegas Raiders.
Social media on Sunday was filled with former and still ticked off fans of the SD Chargers posting how terrific it was the L-A Chargers lost.
And anyone watching the game must have thought they were watching a Raiders home game in Las Vegas based on the crowd noise.
Sunday’s came just a week or so after the new owners of the Padres suggested that they may buy the L-A Chargers and bring them back to San Diego and build an NFL size stadium to make it happen.
We can only hope.
