Could San Diego be close to having its first major sports national championship in its history?
If you saw Tom Krasovic’s column in the San Diego Union Tribune Sunday, he thinks it’s going to happen.
For a lot of Padres fans, it might sound strange to have a sports writer say they think the Padres will win the World Series.
Especially since fans remember the last several years, when the Padres came so close to making it to the World Series, but disappointed a lot of enthusiastic fans, some of whom have been hoping for a World Series title for decades.
The Padres twice made it to the World Series, first in 1984 and then in 1998.
As they say, close but no cigar as for winning a World Series.
But could this year be different? Krasovic the UT sportswriter thinks so.
In his column, he says the baseball gods may be in play this year.
After decades of waiting for the city’s first major sports championship, Padre fans are hoping, and praying, he’s right!
