In annual rankings, San Diego County comes in 12th in the 58 counties in the state.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute released their annual rankings. They look at at more than 30 factors including poverty, education, transportation, housing, and jobs - that influence how long and how well people live.
The Foundation says San Diego needs work on air pollution and housing solutions.
By using information from the Rankings, leaders from public health and health care, business, education, and government can come together to build a Culture of Health across the country.
You can go on the site and see areas where we need improvement. These can be developed by business and government leaders and by community members.
