Diabetics are at greater risk for heat related illnesses and may need to take extra precautions to stay safe.

Dr. Thomas Seck tells KOGO News people with diabetes should check their sugar levels more often and stay hydrated if they are in the heat.

Of course, wear sunblock, and keep your insulin in a cool place.
