According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in 12 adults and one in 11 children are living with asthma in the United States. It's important to have strong communication between patients and clinicians to manage symptoms and to make sure your asthma is treated correctly.
Luckily, Allergy and Asthma Network and the CHEST Foundation have partnered to launch and update their shared decision-making tool.
This is a new process created for asthma patients, allowing patients to build a strong and trusted relationship with their clinician by personalizing each patient's treatment, to enable the doctors to understand their unique condition fully. Within this tool, clinicians and caregivers work collaboratively to identify the patient's preferences and values, ultimately narrowing down the patient's personalized options.
