A San Diego Mother Reaches Out to Cancer Patients and Caregivers

It's a parent's worst nightmare.

Your child is diagnosed with terminal cancer, and now you are thrown into the world of being a caregiver, while trying to do the best for your family and yourself.

Lorraine Kerz of San Diego lost her son Silas to lung cancer at the age of 29, eight months after being diagnosed.

She is part of the patient awareness campaign, “With Love, Me” presented by Merck’sYour Cancer Game Plan.

It features letters written by caregivers and cancer survivors to their newly diagnosed selves and other caregivers, sharing what they wished they would have known at the time of the diagnosis and care giving.
