Reward Increases For Man Who Shot Sheriff's Deputy

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up $1,000 in addition to the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County who is offering $5,000 to anyone who has information leading to the arrest of Ray Pitoau, who is wanted in connection with the shooting of an off duty sheriff's deputy in the Gaslamp on August 7th.

The following Wednesday, a SWAT team surrounded a home on Tarleton Street in Spring Valley looking  Pitoau.

The standoff went on for about five hours, and SWAT eventually determined that Pitoau was not in the house.  Police describe him as Samoan, 5'11", 225 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.  He has an "SD" tattoo on the right side of his chest, and is considered armed and dangerous.
