Sexual Assault In Mira Mesa May Be Related to Earlier Case

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate an unknown suspect wanted for a sexual assault that occurred in the Mira Mesa area.

On November 30, 2017, at 6:30 a.m., a 14-year-old female was walking alone from her house to Mira Mesa High School. A male suspect approached the female and engaged her in conversation as she walked westbound on the 8800 block of Flanders Drive.

The suspect sexually assaulted the female and then ran northbound through a residential complex.

Investigators are reviewing other recent cases in the area to see if they are related.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a dark complexion, 35 to 40-years-old, 5’6”to 5’7” tall, normal build, with short dark colored hair. The suspect spoke with a Spanish accent.

***This case is similar to a Crime Stoppers media release dated 10/17/17 titled “Mira Mesa Sexual Battery Suspect.” In that case, a composite sketch of the suspect was provided. Investigators are asking for the public to look at that composite sketch as that suspect may be related to this case.

In that case a 15 year old girl was walking to Mira Mesa high on thursday O ctober 12th about 6:35 a.m. when she was approached from behind and attacked on Hillery Drive.

Anyone with information can call police or Crime Stoppers.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
