Downtown San Diego is Dressed Up and Ready to Celebrate Comic Con's Big 5-0

San Diego's downtown area looks very different today as it gets set become a playground for the thousands of fans who will be attending Comic Con's 2019.

But, even if you don't have a pass for the convention, in addition to taking advantage of the numerous free activities and activations throughout the Gaslamp area you can just walk around and spend time checking out the modifications that have been made.

A number of the local hotels have been taken both inside and out, to promote films and television shows, including the Hard Rock Hotel which features creatures from Star Wars. If you walk around the area across from the San Diego Convention Center, you will notice that even the walls of some buildings have been wrapped. The San Diego Trolley cars again this year feature wrapped advertisements on its cars.

Keep your eyes open for celebrities if you're walking the streets of the Gaslamp as many will dart out of their limos and into the hotels. Some you will see just walking the street. If that's not something that interests you, join the people who collect free swag like buttons, bags and other items as they are handed out along the area of 5th avenue across the Convention Center.
