Authorities Investigating Child Harassment in Spring Valley

SPRING VALLEY (KOGO) - Families are on high alert in Spring Valley after back-to-back reports of harassment and attempted kidnappings of children.

San Diego County Sheriff's Det. Bryan Keshka says two of the incidents happened on February 28th and March 11th. In one case a man asked a 13-year-old girl to get into his black Toyota Prius. In the next case, which was caught on surveillance video near Spring Valley Middle School, the man walked up behind a girl, groped her and then just walked away after a group of kids yelled at him.

Listen to Anchor/Reporter Eddie McCoven's interview with Det. Bryan Keshka:

Authorities believe it is the same person in both cases. The suspect is described as Caucasian man in his 30's with short-curly-red-hair and glasses. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the San Diego County Sheriff's Department's non-emergency line at (858) 565-5200 or call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
