Honor Flight San Diego flying 85 Veterans to D.C.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Honor Flight San Diego is flying 85 senior veterans to Washington, D.C this weekend to see their war memorials.

At 100-years-old, Peter Sanzo is the second oldest World War II veteran on the flight and he tells reporting partner 10 News visiting the memorial will be hard but he wants to honor his brothers in arms.

"I want to see the memorial, say a prayer," said Sanzo. "That’s the extent of it. Bring a lot of memories back.”

Sanzo says while it happened more than 70 years ago, the memories of the war are still fresh in his mind.
