Bombs, Guns and Innocent Children: The Latest on the Vista Explosions Case

VISTA (KOGO) - Three men are arrested in connection with a string of explosions in Vista.

Valentin Castaneda, 25, Juan Jose Castaneda Santiago, 23, and Caleigh Tabler, 21, were taken into custody Saturday morning following a brief pursuit by San Diego County Sheriff's Deputies. The men were apparently throwing explosive devices out of the car as they tried to get away.

Security video near one of the sites of last Wednesday's explosions led authorities to identify the suspects' car. The reward for the suspects' arrest had been increased to $5,000 in the days following the incident.

Authorities also searched a home on North Santa Fe Drive and found explosive devices, bomb-making materials, guns and ammunition. Three children were also found in the home and are now with family members.

Castaneda was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing a destructive device near a church and on public streets, possessing material with intent to make explosives, exploding a device with intent to terrify, felony evading and child endangerment. The two other men were arrested on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact and child endangerment. No word yet on a motive.
