SAN DIEGO - In the wake of the deadly mass shooting at an elementary school in Texas, local law enforcement officials are asking you to remain vigilant.
San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit tells NBC 7 if you know of any threats or potential threats someone has made, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
“I really want to stress the importance; if you do hear anybody talking, whether you think it’s real or not, let us decide,” Nisleit said. “Sometimes it’s somebody who is really in a mental health crisis."
The Chief went on to say in the days after any tragic event like this, they work with other law enforcement agencies to monitor threats and share intelligence. As a result, you may see additional police officers near schools especially at graduation ceremonies over the next few weeks.
