VISTA - Another person has died while in Sheriff's Department custody.
The Sheriff's Department says James Bousman, 23, died at a hospital Wednesday morning after he suffered an unknown medical crisis. This after he was found unresponsive just before midnight Tuesday in his cell at the Vista Detention Center.
Jail staff tried to revive him, until paramedics arrived and took over. A cause of death has not yet been determined. Bousman had been in Sheriff's custody since March and was being held on multiple charges, including vandalism and battery on a peace officer.
He is the fifth person to die in Sheriff's custody this month and the 15th in-custody death this year.
