EL CAJON - A suspect is in custody in connection with a stabbing that took place on the San Diego Trolley last weekend.
El Cajon Police arrested Joshua Lee Martinez, 32, on Wednesday. The ex-con is accused of confronting a couple on the San Diego Trolley last Saturday, getting into an argument with them and then stabbing the man in the arms and head several times before exiting the trolley car.
Authorities were able to track down the suspect using surveillance video. Police say Martinez has an extensive violent criminal history, including arrests for robbery and domestic violence.
