How Some California Residents are Escaping the High Cost of Living

SAN DIEGO - More California residents are making the move South of the border to escape the high cost of living.

According to the cost of living website Numbeo, the average monthly rent for a one bedroom apartment in San Diego is more than $2,500. But across the border in Tijuana a comparable one bedroom apartment may only cost you just over $600.

For those thinking of making the move, better do it sooner than later. The Tijuana real estate association says housing prices are up nearly 30 percent since the start of the pandemic.
