SAN DIEGO - Another major drug bust takes place at the border and this time it's here in San Diego County.
Customs and Border Protection agents seized more than 872 pounds of cocaine and 42 pounds of fentanyl at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry back on August 5th. A drug-sniffing dog alerted agents to the presence of drugs in a semi-truck and after a secondary inspection agents found 362 packages of drugs hidden within a shipment of heavy equipment gears.
Authorities estimate the drugs have a combined street value of $12.8 Million. The driver of that truck was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
