LA MESA - The fire at an Office Depot store in La Mesa is being investigated as arson.
The two alarm fire broke out in the store off of Fletcher Parkway around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday. Heartland Fire says witnesses told them several fires were set inside the building.
"We had information that there may have been someone inside starting fires at multiple locations," said Heartland Fire Division Chief Nelson said. "Given the large amount of fire when we showed up, there may be something to that story. Currently, that information has been passed on to law enforcement and they're interviewing our personnel, as well as employees and any other witnesses."

Anyone with information about this fire is asked to call La Mesa Police.
