What We Know about the Latest Group of Migrants rounded up at the Border

SAN DIEGO - The Border Patrol takes another large group of migrants into custody.

Agents apprehended 100 suspected illegal immigrants early Tuesday morning as they tried to climb over the fence near Friendship Park. There were 79 single adults, 18 family members and three unaccompanied minors from 12 different counties including Somalia, Afghanistan and Brazil. Agents had to call in translators since few of the migrants spoke English or Spanish.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says of the more than 145,000 migrants taken into custody by agents in the San Diego sector so far this fiscal year more than 44,000 were from countries other than Mexico.
