SAN DIEGO - The majority of public transit riders in San Diego say they are happy with the service but they do want to see some changes.
The Metropolitan Transit System released the findings of a survey conducted earlier this year, which shows 91 percent of riders who responded say they are satisfied with the bus and trolley. But 23 percent said the transit operator needs to add more nighttime routes and 31 percent said weekend service needs to be increased. In response, the transit agency will be looking into ways it can add more night and weekend routes as well as improve security and cleaning of stations and vehicles.
MTS operates more than 100 bus routes and three trolley lines from San Diego down to the border and as far East as Jacumba, with an average 200,000 passengers riding the bus and trolley on weekdays.
