SAN DIEGO - The county's unemployment rate is back on the rise.
According to the latest state data, San Diego County's unemployment rate increased to 3.4 percent in August, up from a revised 3.1 percent in July. But that's still much lower than the 6.5 percent unemployment the county saw this time last year.
Among the sectors losing jobs were retail, financial services, transportation and broadcasting.
Last month's rates compare with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.1 percent for the state and 3.8 percent nationwide during the same period.
