Musgrove, 'Rally Goose' Latest Murals Celebrating the Padres

SAN DIEGO - Padres fans will be talking about the 'rally goose' for the foreseeable future and now the bird has its own mural.

Painter Paul Jimenez of Ground Floor Murals recently paid homage the goose that landed on the field of Dodger Stadium during the Padres win against the team during the National League Division Series by painting the bird on a wall on Third Avenue in Chula Vista next to the Manny Machado mural he painted previously.

Over the weekend as the Friars beat the Dodgers and advanced to the National League Championship Series, Jimenez and his partner Signe Ditona also helped paint a mural in the Gaslamp Quarter of hometown pitcher Joe Musgrove, much to the delight of Padres fans.

But this is not the first Padres mural the two have painted. Jimenez and Ditona started Ground Floor Murals during the height of the Pandemic and their work can be seen around San Diego, capturing the likeness of Yu Darvish and Mister Padre himself, the late Tony Gwyn.

The Padres face off against the Philadelphia Phillies for Game One of the National League Championship Series at Petco Park on Tuesday, first pitch at 5:03 p.m.
