SAN DIEGO - Dozens of Downtown seniors are back indoors after a three-alarm fire forced them out in the cold this morning.
San Diego Fire-Rescue responded to the fire at a pedicab business on Market Street near 14th Street just after 4:30 a.m. The fire was burning is near a senior living building, which prompted evacuations.
"We had a little problem getting out of the building because it was filled with smoke and they had problems with the elevator so we had to go down the stairways," one resident told reporting partner 10 News. "There's nothing but seniors up there and there's people in wheelchairs."
At least one person was taken to the hospital with burn injuries.
Coronado and National City's fire departments were also on scene.
