Today, November 10th, marks the birthday for one our nation's military branches known as they few, the proud, the Marines.
The United States Marine Corps is celebrating 247 years of serving and protecting our nation on land, in the air and at sea. The military branch dates back to 1775 with the forming of two battalions of the Continental Marines in Philadelphia during the American Revolutionary War.
The Marine Corps motto is Semper Fidelis, Latin for 'always faithful.' And as many of us in San Diego County know, they really are, as they fight for our republic and for freedom all over the world. Thank you to our Marines, past, present and future.
