Tijuana Serial Killer possibly on the Run in San Diego

SAN DIEGO - An apparent serial killer wanted for murders in Tijuana could be on the loose in San Diego.

Baja California Attorney General Ricardo Carpio says authorities on both sides of the border are looking for a man accused of accused of killing three prostitutes.

"There was work done regarding sharing information between our homicide department and the institution’s strategy department," said Carpio. "They were able to determine that this suspect attacks vulnerable, lonely victims and lures them with lies.”

NBC 7 reports the man is believed to be a U.S. citizen and has traveled across the border at San Ysidro to commit these crimes. Each woman was found dead in a hotel room after a sexual encounter with the suspect. Authorities say there could be more victims.

Violence against women is up in Baja California, with 140 women murdered in just the first three months of this year, most of the cases remain unsolved.
