SAN DIEGO - The father of a missing Chula Vista mother is expected to take the stand today, as the hearing in the case against Larry Millete continues this week.
Pablito Tabalanza, Maya Millete's father, said Larry approached him during a family gathering in 2020 saying he would kill someone and lifted up his shirt to show a gun in his waistband. The father said there was no conversating leading up to those remarks and that he was unsure who Larry may have been talking about.

Last Friday, Maya's brother Jay-R Tabalanza testified that he went to the Millete home the day after Maya's disappearance and that the couple's children claimed she had locked her self in her room and hadn't fed them and said Larry started a conversation with him about domestic abuse.
The brother also confirmed the couple had been having martial problems, saying Larry would call him several times a day asking for marital advice and asking him to convince Maya to stay with him.
More witness and expert testimony is expected in the days ahead. A judge will then decide if there is enough evidence to put Larry on trial for Maya's murder, despite the fact that Maya's body has never been found.
