SAN DIEGO - A judge has ordered a Chula Vista man to stand trial for the murder of his wife, who's been missing for more than two years.
Larry Millete will also face one count of possession of an assault weapon when his trial begins in September. The ruling came after two weeks of testimony where witnesses and law enforcement spoke about the deteriorating relationship between the couple, including Larry's anger issues, his use of spellcasters, strategically placed cell phones to track his wife's moves and play subliminal messages and his conversations with Maya's family.
Maya disappeared after making an appointment with a divorce attorney in January of 2021 and her body has never been found. The prosecution cited the Charles Manson murder case, saying the successful disposal of a body does not entitle a murderer to avoid prosecution.
