U.S. News and World Report has named UCSD Health to its top 20 health systems in the nation.
The online publication's rankings considered nearly 45-hundred medical centers across 14 medical specialties. UCSD was the first adult medical provider in San Diego County to make the honor roll in 2023, and 2024, but fell off the list in 2025.
UC San Diego Health’s nationally-ranked specialties include: Seventh in pulmonology and lung surgery, eighth in obstetrics and gynecology, 15th in cardiology and vascular surgery, 15th in geriatrics, 24th in neurology and neurosurgery, 26th in diabetes and endocrinology, 27th in gastroenterology and GI surgery, and 44th in cancer care.
