A family was swimming off the coast of Florida, when they got caught in a rip current. That is when other beach goers sprang into action and made an 80-person human chain to rescue the family. Read more and see the stunning pictures here!
If you are visiting San Diego, remember, with the big waves rolling in from a storm off Cabo, come strong rip currents.
If you see an area on the beach where there are waves breaking on either side of a strangely calm area, stay out of the water in that area.
Look for lifeguards, and ask them where it is safe to swim, they are good guys, they'll tell you.
