I'm on a voyage of discovery. At age 50, I should find that a little embarrassing, but there it is.
I went out with a friend Saturday night, and removed my phone from my purse twice. Both times, to order Uber. Outside of that, I did not find myself longing to check my phone for anything.
I was captivated by the conversation. Enjoying every moment, while I was in that moment. It's strange, but I wasn't even tempted to check up on...anything. By disconnecting, I reconnected. With actual adult people. And you know something? I LIKE people. Living, breathing, funny, flawed, perfect people.
Do you find yourself connecting more through the phone than you do in real life? I did. And do. And that is changing now.
