Child Abuse Experts Brainstorm in San Diego

There's a conference going on right now in San Diego that's addressing the problem of child abuse.

It's the Chadwick's 32nd annual San Diego International Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment. What do people get out of abusing innocent children? Why does it still happen? The fact that we still need to have conferences like this is sickening, but if experts can figure out a way to get the numbers down, it's definitely worth it.

The conference is timely, since we recently heard about those poor children chained to their beds in deplorable conditions in their Riverside County home. They were filthy, only allowed to bathe once or twice a year and only allowed to look at food and rarely eat.

In this clip from Megyn Kelly, the children's aunt talks about what she heard and saw. Did she miss the signs? Did she even know what to look for?

Maybe with the guidance of the experts here in San Diego, we call all learn what to look for, what to report and most importantly, how to protect our children.
