USD head men's basketball coach Lamont Smith was arrested Sunday in the Bay Area and is facing three domestic violence charges, according to public records released by the San Francisco Sheriff's Department.
Allen Lamont Smith, 42, was arrested at Oakland International Airport before the USD basketball team's flight back to San Diego. The team beat the University of San Francisco 64-61 in the regular season finale.
Officers were called to the team hotel near Union Square late Saturday night on reports of a domestic violence disturbance.
According to our reporting partner 10News, the victim told police she and Smith were in a relationship and were intimately involved.
Smith is married and has two children.
The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Smith is facing three charges in San Francisco: domestic violence, assault with force likely to commit great bodily injury, and false imprisonment.
USD says it's investigating the matter.
