Kids & Germs: Should We Be Worried?

Many children spend a majority of their day surrounded by other kids and with those playmates comes germs. There is only so much a disinfectant wipe can do to get rid of these germs.

Infectious disease expert Mark Warner says day care centers are hot spots for various germs and pathogens like fecal coliform, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus and E coli. He says we should be concerned. After all, young kids don't really know how to protect themselves from germs...but does he think we should expose kids to some germs once in a while?

                Warner has advice for parents. Listen to his interview with Ted and LaDona below.
