William Barr Hopes To Release Redacted Mueller Report Within A Week

Attorney General Bill Barr is promising to release a redacted Special Counsel Robert Mueller team report within a week. In a House hearing Tuesday, Barr said he is working to make as much of the report public as he can. Barr stressed that Mueller played no role in crafting his four-page summary to Congress last month. He said he gave Mueller a chance to review the summary letter and Mueller declined. New York Democrat José Serrano criticized Barr's summary and said Congress and the American people need to see the full, un-redacted report. New York Democrat Nita Lowey said Barr's handling of the Mueller report has been unacceptable and suspicious. Barr's summary letter said Mueller found no evidence of conspiracy or collusion between Russia and President Trump's 2016 campaign. He noted that Mueller did not exonerate Trump on obstruction of justice, leaving that determination up to him. Barr said that after studying the report, he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein concluded there is no evidence the President nor any of his staff or collaborators obstructed justice.
