Three Teens Arrested For Climbing Over Mar-A-Lago Wall With A Loaded AK-47

Three teenagers were taken into custody after hopping the wall at President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort with a loaded AK-47. The teens ended up at Mar-a-Lago following a chase with Palm Beach police officers.

The chase started when officers noticed the three teens sitting in a parked in a silver Hyundai about two miles from the resort. As officers approached the vehicle, the driver sped away, leading the police on a brief chase.

The teens got out of the vehicle and jumped the wall to hide on the property. Authorities surrounded the club and used a helicopter and police dog to locate the group.

All three were taken into custody without further incident. Mar-a-Lago security found a backpack that had been dropped near a seawall, which contained a loaded AK-47 and a 14-round magazine.

The teens, who are all 15 years old, told police they found the gun and claimed it wasn't theirs. They said they didn't realize they were trespassing at President Trump's resort.

“Honestly, I really don’t believe they even realized where they were in terms of location and proximity to Mar-a-Lago,” Palm Beach Police spokesman Michael Ogrodnick said.

All three teens are facing charges of armed trespassing, armed burglary, and resisting arrest without violence. The driver of the vehicle was also charged with driving without a license. Prosecutors are considering trying the group as adults.

President Trump was not at the resort, which is currently closed.
