A second county-operated antibody treatment facility has opened in Chula Vista.
The clinic, which opened on Monday, April 19, will offer free emergency use of combination monoclonal antibodies to anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
They will be open seven days a week from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
The location of the clinic is "no accident," according to county Supervisor Nora Vargas who says the area has been hit the hardest by COVID-19.
San Diego has seen an overall decline in the number of positive COVID-19 cases, but new cases are still being reported every day.
According to county public health officials, there were 152 new COVID-19 infections on Monday.
The county says antibody therapy has "proven to significantly reduce hospital visits and death in COVID-19 positive patients if administered within 10 days of the onset of symptoms.”
The treatment is administered in the veins and takes less than an hour, according to NBC7.
Patients can call (619) 685-2500 to make an appointment at the Chula Vista or Escondido locations.
