A startup from Philadelphia is making its way into San Diego County.

Gopuff started as a way to deliver snacks to college kids, but the company has expanded so quickly and quietly that Global News & Entertainment claims "you're doubtless already a buyer without realizing it."

“We ship every part from snacks, ice cream and alcohol to child, pet and wonder merchandise and over-the-counter remedy. We do it in beneath half-hour, 24-hours a day for a flat $1.95 supply payment,” said Gopuff's Senior VP of Enterprise Daniel Folkman. “The way in which that we do that’s what makes us completely different.”

The company now owns BevMo and all 161 of its shops throughout California, Arizona, and Washington. They purchased the alcohol chain for $350 million last year, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune.

In 16 of San Diego County's BevMo locations, the company has added a curated assortment of comfort objects including brand-name snacks, coffee, playing cards, and frozen foods.

The new snack aisle at BevMo in La Mesa features products you can order via the Gopuff app.

The hybrid shops also act as distribution hubs for people who order online from Gopuff.

Since Thursday, July 29, Gopuff delivers to customers in San Diego County along with many north and east county neighborhoods.
