Three local rescue puppies will be competing in Animal Planet's popular Puppy Bowl.
According to KGTV, all three dogs are from the Helen Woodward Animal Center and traveled nearly 3,000-miles from Rancho Santa Fe to New York to film.
Rescue puppies Marcus and Spangles will be competing on Team Ruff and Firework will play for Team Fluff, according to a press release.
Spangles and Fireworks are Chihuahua/Spaniel siblings who were born on the same day, July 4, and Marcus is a Chihuahua blend.
Team Ruff and Team Fluff will compete for the CHEWY "Lombarky" trophy at the GEICO stadium.
KGTV reports that 118 adoptable puppies from 67 shelters and rescues across 33 states will compete in the televised program.
