San Diego may be a military town, but when it comes to honoring our veterans buried at Ft. Rosecrans Cemetery we have a lot of work to do!
In San Diego more than 110,000 veterans are buried at Ft. Rosecrans Cemetery, but only a shockingly low 4% of graves receive a wreath during the holiday season.
“We can and should do better for our veterans buried at Ft. Rosecrans Cemetery,” says KOGO afternoon host Carl DeMaio.
To properly honor San Diego’s veterans, DeMaio is partnering with Wreaths Across America - a national non-profit organization dedicated to honoring our veterans who sacrificed their lives for their country through wreath laying ceremonies at our military cemeteries across the nation. In addition to honoring veterans with wreaths, the organization uses the wreath laying ceremonies to teach children about sacrifice.
For $15 you can put a wreath on one of those graves. Please consider contributing today!
