San Diego has a new proposal to raise the pay of officers in order to recruit and retain cops.
Transparent California says it’s the city’s lackluster hiring methods that contributes to its low numbers. Researcher Robert Fellner shares data that shows about 1% of SD police leave because of low pay. He also tells Carl DeMaio that another major factor is the large number of police that are retiring.
