Recall efforts against Governor Gavin Newsom enter the final days of signature gathering and the number one candidate sought after by Conservatives, Ric Grenell, is now emerging as the candidate to beat.
Trump administration official Richard (Ric) Grenell used part of his Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) speech to blast Governor Newsom and then hinted that he might be interested in running against him.
“I have never seen a better case for a recall than there is right now in California,” Ric Grenell said in his Saturday morning CPAC speech.
“California used to be Reagan country, the shining example of business innovation and middle-class success,” Grenell said. “Now when you think of California, you think of out of control wildfires, of rolling blackouts, of schools still closed, of shuttered businesses, of bans on fracking, and wealthy people jumping the vaccine line,” he continued.
Grenell finished his speech by stating that if a public official is still failing to deliver on their promises, there’s always one other option, “You can run against them yourself.”
“When Ric Grenell finished his speech the delegates at CPAC broke out spontaneously into a chant... Run Ric, Run!,” Carl DeMaio stated.
“Ric also had a private dinner with former President Trump to discuss his potential run for Governor,” said DeMaio. “There’s no doubt in my mind Trump would support him,” he continued.
Grenell would undoubtedly bring out the Trump supporters to a gubernatorial race and would definitely excite voters.
