Effort to Repeal California Car/Gas Tax Receives Big Boost

Carl DeMaio was joined by tax reform representatives from various groups Wednesday to announce major support and endorsements in the initiative drive to repeal the California car and gas tax.

The increase, signed by California Governor Jerry Brown would raise the gas tax effective November 1st, the money earmarked for road and bridge repairs.

Critics say the money collected will likely be diverted by politicians and that taxpayers should have had the opportunity to vote on the increase.
