Flooding In Hawai'i Hits Home for a Padres Pitcher

50 inches of rain on 24 hours? That's what happened in Koloa, HI, and that's the hometown of Padres pitcher Kirby Yates. Now he's raising money to help them out.

Kirby Yates is from Koloa on the island of Kauai. When the recent rains hit, it literally hit home for him and he knew he had to help somehow. Kirby says most people there had no warning and were caught in the floods. Many homes were destroyed. His family still lives there and he tells us how they are doing and how the community is recovering. Find out how you can help him raise money for the relief efforts (he will personally match the first $5,000 donated).
