A man was arrested after police say he shot and killed a U.S. Navy Corpsman in Oceanside Friday. Police were called to 550 Los Arbolitos Blvd. around 4:00p.m. Friday. Officers found 24-year-old Devon Rideout shot, and paramedics tried to save her, but were unsuccessful.
Oceanside Police found 25-year-old Eduardo Arriola around 12:30a.m. Saturday, and after questioning him, took him into custody. He's been held without bail at the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of murder. Officers say both Arriola and Rideout lived at the same apartment complex, but there is no known connection between the two.
Rideout was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Detectives haven't determined a motive, are still investigating, and ask anyone with information to call Oceanside Police at (760) 435-4832.
