A man who killed a San Diego police officer in 1978 has been granted parole.
Today, San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan argued in front of the state parole board the killer of Officer Archie Buggs should be denied parole.
She said the gang member, who killed Buggs at point blank range ago during a traffic stop is dangerous.
It was the 17th time Jesus Cecena had been up for parole.
The hearing lasted nearly five hours, and the board announced its decision after deliberating about 30 minutes.
Governor Brown will get the case within 120 days and the DA's office says it will urge the Governor, in th strongest terms, to reverse the decision granting parole.
