There’s climate change and then there’s weather change. And we sure have seen the latter lately.
From temperatures into the upper 90’s last week and a Santa Ana to this week’s highs in the mid-70s and a Santa Ana and now with the strong winds gone, we get the Freeze Warning for the county with temperatures falling to around 30 degrees in some inland spots.
And while it’s the first of November, and not far from the holidays and the official start of winter in December, the National Weather Service history in San Diego shows that we can get still have some pretty hot days in these coming days in November.
And everyone, especially firefighters, are hoping for cooler and wetter weather in the coming weeks.Just as one Cal Fire official said this week, until the start of the rainy season in California, the risk of wildfires will remain.
Typically, we can expect some rain by sometime in early to mid-December, and so lots of fingers are crossed…across the state…that the first rain arrives sooner than later.
We can certainly use another wet winter this year like we had last year. And that would make for a great gift for the holidays for everyone in California.
