Why Little Things on Election Ballot Are Big Things

With two weeks go to now until the March 3rd primary election in California, most of us know most of the issues that have been getting a lot of news coverage.

From Measures A and B that are about new developments and Measure C which is the one about expanding the convention center and provide money for homelessness and better roads.

But there are also some very local issues on the ballot, in some of the smaller cities around the county that are just as important if you live in one of those cities.

Those measures include everything from project labor agreements in the City of Chula Vista to a decision on a proposed luxury resort along the City of Del Mar’s coast to the retail sale of dogs, cats and rabbits in the City of National City.

There’s the sales tax measure in the City of Lemon Grove that could decide if Lemon Grove remains a city.

And besides all that, there about a half a dozen school bond measures from San Ysidro to Escondido.

So with all of that along with the all the different candidate races on the ballot from small towns to members of Congress, there are plenty of decisions to make.

And in a democracy, it’s important that “we the people” take the time to know what we’re voting about.
