We’re all seeing how the coronavirus is affecting the economy, from drops on Wall Street to cancelations in the cruise ship, airline and convention businesses.
We’re also seeing how the virus is affecting the health care system as it rapidly ramps up to meet the need.
We’re also seeing how the coronavirus is affecting local, state and federal governments that are working to contain the spread of the virus.
And we’re also starting to see for ourselves what impact the virus is having on our behavior.
Having been at a local performance this weekend with about two thousand other people, there was a lot of fist-bumping and people being careful about touching things.
The coronavirus also has the potential to change the way we look at going to work.
A headline in the SD Union Tribune put it this way: “Experts say bosses need to show, not tell, their workers that staying home is not just OK, it’s expected.”
A top physician with the Harvard Global Health Institute says he and other doctors are part of the problem, saying...”I’m embarrassed to say that I have gone to work sick, because that is the cultural expectation.”
It may be the coronavirus ends up changing the way we look at that culture in the future.
